YONDER.make  Pom Pom Blankets

In tribute to our new Pom Pom Blankets coming in store this week, we thought we would give you a sneak peak at how these beautiful blankets are made! We work closely with local artisans to design and make each blanket, firstly choosing the colours. The wool and cotton is then dyed and hung out dry in the Moroccan sun.

The newly dyed wool or cotton is then spun out into smaller lengths of yarn on to bobbins. This yarn is then used to begin weaving the blankets on large traditional wooden looms, each one taking a few days to make.

The pom poms are separately handmade and then sewn onto the blankets in the last stage of the process. Not only do these blankets help support local artisans, but they give you a lovingly handmade item.

YONDER.eat  ZWIN' ZWIN' CAFE, Marrakech

As you make your way down one of the many winding roads within the medina, where the dusty streets and souks stay mainly in the dark shade of the day, you suddenly spot the bright colours of Zwin' Zwin' cafe's sign. After you climb the traditionally tight staircase you suddenly get a feeling of light, space and air. The bright white walls are matched with pops of colour and sweet details such as scallop edged tables (and that's only the first floor). As you then make your way up the grand double iron banister you find yourself on the rooftop. With neon coral parasols dotted over the terrace, pastel moroccan kilim cushions, and palm trees in the distance, you start to feel a like you could be in Miami! Zwin' Zwin' Cafe is definitely the best place for a lunch time pick-me-up, serving mini burgers, tasty aubergine dishes, and fresh juices!

When we think of the month of May, our mind starts to drift and imagine the lighter evenings and warmer weather. Plants start to grow and the trees no longer seem so bare. It's a time of freshly pressed juices and citrus fruits. May is a fresh, clean and crisp month, like white sheets blowing on a line. May is al fresco dining. May is turquoise water. May feels like a step closer to summer, and it's exactly that feeling that can end up making this time of year so much better than the later summer months, that we think we are craving so much!
